Overdue journal is overdue.
Alright prepare for a reader because I've got much to cover and I'll try to be as brief as possible..
First things first, yeah, I'm not really 'back' with porting models. I still have the few games you've seen releases from in the past. However thanks to someone
mrfuzzlebum.deviantart.com/ nice enough to give permission to let me TRY to port the objects he ripped from a game, I do have some more ideas in mind. Sadly though, I've run into a problem when trying to port them to Xnalara and I've no clue how to fix them so yeah, that's on hold for the time being.
On the flip side though, I do have ideas for more object packs from a different game. But out of respect for others who port from specific games, more than others, I still need to get permission to do a project from the source they're known to work with mostly.
As far as models with bones, I believe I'm done with that. I quite honestly don't understand half the tutorials out there and I'd rather not go "begging" to someone to teach me step by step. They have enough to do as it is, I'm sure. "Stick to what you know" as they say. So I do apologize if you're looking for certain models with bones. Until I can learn more, those are not an option.
Onto something more important I believe;
respect. Now I've noticed lately there's been a lot of removal or "notice" toward others and their work, here on DA. I'm honestly not going to touch anything that has to do with the admins. But the point of saying this is that the people who do take the time to port models with or without bones, sceneries, objects, etc do put a lot of effort into that. And even there are those who make photomanips often put hard work into their "art". It really sucks when you take a look at someone's work, actually like it but find no credit at all for anything. I give credit to the proper owners of anything I put up here and more importantly, the actual owner of said work that it came from. Companies, creators, etc etc etc. It's a real shame that people don't hardly do this.
I noticed this coming up with MMD stuff as well. Mostly with things like people who convert models to the MMD format when they were released for Xnalara. I for one, could care less if someone does that because quite honestly, there is no way we can stop it from happening when we're the ones who put said model for download anyway. Be it here or linked elsewhere. But I know it's much easier to convert, than what may be expected. The least a person could do is give credit to the one who put the model up on DA in the first place if they're not going to ask permission to convert it (some people do that),
as well as put the actual credit to the company who created the model overall. Like Square Enix, Capcom, etc.
That's just my little rant on the matter. I sincerely don't believe in people claiming work as their own IF they did not create it in the first place, so yeah there you go. There's more to explain and say but I'd rather this not get too long.
Finally. Drama. Seriously, "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." yeah ok this is DA where criticism gets thrown left and right but as far as myself goes, if you honestly are just going to try and discourage what I do, then don't say anything period. I am still trying to learn with models and such for Xnalara and that process. Sure I'm not as quick as others and I DO have other things to do besides sit and try every model I can work with, but if you just want to tell me that if I don't know how to do something, don't do it then by all means you sit and try learning something on your own and tell me you won't have issues. It's not as easy as it seems
I could go on and on, but I won't lol. I just had to get all this out there for now.
Regarding one final note here is a very short list of games I have that I really want to learn how to extract sceneries from. If anyone can point me in the direction of a How too.. , that would be great.
